THAILAND EMERGES AS NEW PRODUCTION HUB FOR EV BATTERIES
According to forecasts from K-Research, the production and assembly of batteries for Electric Vehicles (EVs) in Thailand will stand at 430,000 units by 2023. This will put the country in the top four throughout Asia. Thailand will then account for 3% of global battery production within five years. The EV and EV Battery market is expected to increase significantly from 2019 as many car manufacturers have applied for the Thailand Board of Investment's (BOI) incentives to localize assembly.
